Serto - a Syriac (Aramaic) Alphabet
For the use with TeX/LaTeX I developped a METAFONT based font for
Serto. It is currently in an early state, but you may use
it and you are
welcome to undertake any enhancement and sent these to me!
N.B.: if you want to write more than isolated words in Serto, you need
a recent latex which has the TeX-XeT extension
(comes usually with TeX distributions such as
texlive as pdflatex) and python to run
the preprocessor!
For more information, here is the documentation (.pdf) distributed together with
the package.
Where to get it:
- the newest version of
Serto
will always be here as a tar'ed and
gzip'ed file. (This is the Version 1.3 as of 4th November 2021.)
- For Ubuntu 20.04 you can use the debian - package serto-1.3.1.deb.
This package works also on Ubuntu 18.04, and probably on other Ubuntu or Debian platforms as well, but I only dispose of
Ubuntu 20.04 and 18.04 for testing. The debian package does not contain the Metafont source files.
- This version will be uploaded to the CTAN server,
